Size Project Reflection
This was a piece that took me much longer than i expected. I stated out wanting to create nail clippers but then changed my mind when Mr. Brooks said that we should try to incorporate content into our work of art. I thought of ADHD pills because it is a relevant issue at school and something my family deals with daily. I did not enjoy this project as much because it was filled with tedious work of winding chicken wire together and other jobs. I also had a hard time finishing and did not like working on it when all the other students in the class were working on a new project. During the next projects I will come in during x-block or lunch if I feel that I am falling behind and will not be able to complete my sculpture by the time it is due. This was a much different experience from the last project because I did not have an exact replica of what I was creating. I had pictures of what I was creating but I did not have a six foot pill bottle so recreating something that I was not looking at was different and much harder for me. I also enjoyed not knowing exactly what my finished product would look like because it game me freedom to create whatever I thought would be best. The size of this project was new to me, I had to work in an open spot and wrestle with large sheets of paper for most of the building process. This was challenging but very fun. I did not enjoy working with such soft, bendy objects. It made my sculpture fragile which was something I had to deal with during the project. Overall I feel that content and size were two large factors in this sculpture which were two of the goals in this project. In the end I enjoyed this project and was happy with the way it came out.
